SakayKo

FAQ

Common questions about using SakayKo.

How much does SakayKo cost? +
The app is free for passengers. You only pay the driver's fare in cash on arrival. You set the fare — the app shows a suggested amount based on distance and vehicle type, and you offer what you're willing to pay. Drivers can accept your offer or counter, then you pick the one you want. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
How does the counter-offer auction work? +
When you create a booking, you offer a fare. Drivers nearby see it and can either tap Accept (lock in your offer) or post a counter — usually higher for long trips, sometimes lower if they're already heading your way. You see each counter come in live with the driver's name, plate, and rating. Tap Accept on the one you want, and the booking is locked at that price.
What's the difference between Pabili and Padala? +
Pabili = "Buy this for me." The driver goes to the store/market, buys what you describe, and delivers it to you. You pay for the items + fare on arrival.

Padala = "Send this for me." You hand the driver an item; they deliver it to a recipient at another location.
What payment methods do you accept? +
Cash only for now. You pay the driver directly when they pick you up (Ride) or deliver (Pabili / Padala). Digital payment options are coming.
Where is SakayKo available? +
We're starting in Madridejos, Bantayan Island. We'll expand to other Bantayan municipalities (Bantayan town, Santa Fe) as more drivers join.
What if no driver accepts my offer? +
Your booking stays in "pending" until a driver accepts or counters, or you cancel. If nobody's biting, tap Raise on the auction screen to nudge your offer up — drivers get notified instantly. You'll get a push notification the moment any driver responds.
What if my driver cancels mid-booking? +
The booking automatically goes back to pending and other nearby drivers + dispatch get notified instantly so you're not stranded. You can either wait for another driver to accept, or cancel and try a different ride. The driver who bailed cannot be re-assigned to the same booking.
Can I have more than one active booking? +
Yes. You can have one active Ride plus up to three active Pabili or Padala in flight at the same time — useful when you want to send a parcel and order pandesal while waiting for your ride. Once you hit the limit, the service tile shows "AT LIMIT" until one finishes.
Can I schedule a ride ahead of time? +
Yes — for Rides. Tap the schedule picker on the booking screen to set a pickup time later today (minimum one hour out). Drivers see a "SCHEDULED" tag with the time on their queue so they know it's a future pickup, not an immediate one.
Can I see driver ratings? +
Yes. Every counter offer shows the driver's average rating (★ + how many rides they've been rated on). Pick whoever you trust. After your ride, you rate the driver and the driver rates you — both ratings stay public on each profile.
How do I become a driver? +
Visit our Support page and message us with your name, vehicle type, plate number, and the barangay you usually operate from. We onboard drivers manually right now to make sure each one is local and verified.
Is my data safe? +
Yes. We only collect what's needed to make rides work — phone number for OTP login, location while you have an active booking, and your booking history. See our Privacy Policy for details.
