Delete your account
Permanently remove your SakayKo account and associated data.
Plain-language summary: Email us with the phone number you signed up with and we'll delete your account within 30 days. You can also request that only certain categories of data be deleted (e.g. ride history) without closing your account.
How to request deletion
Send an email to support@sakayko.app from any address with the following details:
- The Philippine mobile number you used to sign up (e.g. +63 9XX XXX XXXX)
- Your registered first name (so we can match the correct account if you have multiple)
- Whether you want full account deletion or partial data deletion (see below)
We respond within 3 business days to confirm the request, and complete deletion within 30 days. We may ask for an OTP sent to the registered phone to verify ownership before processing.
Full account deletion
We permanently remove or anonymize:
- Your name, phone number, profile photo, and email (if any)
- Your booking history and chat messages (your name is replaced with "Deleted user" on the other party's records — we keep the booking row itself for the driver/passenger you matched with, since their history is theirs to keep)
- Your driver application, KYC photos (ID, selfie, vehicle), and vehicle records, if you signed up as a driver
- Your device push-notification tokens
- Your ratings of other users (the score is anonymized to "Deleted user" on the other party's profile)
After deletion you can sign up again with the same phone number; you'll start fresh with no history.
Partial data deletion
You can also request deletion of specific categories without closing your account. Common requests:
- Booking history — delete past trips, keep account active
- Chat messages — delete in-app conversations from completed bookings
- Profile photo — clear your avatar, keep everything else
Specify which category in your email and we'll process the same way.
Records we are required to keep
Under Philippine law and our terms, a few items survive deletion:
- Anti-fraud / safety logs for up to 12 months — phone number, IP, and timestamps of suspended accounts. Helps us prevent re-registration of users banned for harassment, fraud, or abuse of the platform.
- Tax / accounting records for up to 10 years where Philippine tax law requires it (BIR retention rules), including aggregated fare totals — but with personally identifying details removed.
- The other party's booking record. If you took a ride, the driver's record of that trip is theirs to keep. Your name is replaced with "Deleted user" on their side.
Data Privacy Act
Under the Philippines Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), you have rights to access, correct, transfer, and delete your personal data, and to be informed how it is used. This page documents how we honor the right to deletion. For other rights, see our Privacy Policy.
If we cannot resolve a privacy concern, you may file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.
